Reasons and maintenance of bucket cylinder damage When a hydraulic excavator was doing ditching operations, the bucket movement gradually slowed until it could not work normally. The analysis believed that the bucket cylinder might be malfunctioning. 1.Inspection methods and results When the bucket cylinder moves slowly or does not move, check its appearance first, and if there is no abnormality, check the oil return filter elements. Along with the excessive work of the bucket cylinder piston, the particles generated due to wear and other reasons will be transformed into the working medium to flow, and will be intercepted by the oil return filter element in the oil return pipeline. If there is a black rubber block penetrating in the oil return filter element, the piston seal ring is obviously damaged; if iron filings of different sizes are found, it indicates that particles are generated due to the friction between the steel seal ring and the inner wall of the cylinder; if there is gray or light yellow half Transparent nylon material indicates damage to the wear ring. After inspection, it was found that there were a large amount of metal powder, black rubber block, brown nylon and small metal particles in the oil return filter element of the machine. The ring is stuck in the piston ring groove and is broken. The inner wall of the cylinder is severely strained. There are a lot of metal powder and particles at the bottom of the cylinder. 2.Reason analysis The analysis believes that due to factors such as metal fatigue, the steel ring on the bucket cylinder piston is broken, which leads to direct contact between the piston and the cylinder. During the frequent expansion and contraction of the piston rod, the stubble of the steel ring continues to scrape the inner wall of the bucket cylinder. The wall is strained to cause internal leakage, which reduces the movement speed of the bucket cylinder. With the increase of working hours, the damage of the seal ring and the strain on the cylinder wall continue to increase, causing the internal leakage of the bucket cylinder to become more serious, so that the control valve cannot control the action of the bucket cylinder. 3. Preventive measures (1) Standard operation In excavator operation, if the bucket cylinder piston rod reaches the end of the rod cavity stroke, the internal limit ring will easily be damaged under the action of pressure and impact, thereby reducing the service life of the bucket cylinder. Therefore, when operating the machine, the bucket cylinder should retain 10-20 cm of expansion and contraction allowance. This operation can prevent fatigue damage to the steel ring and limit ring on the piston due to long-term heavy load impact. When the excavator is working, the digging depth and digging range are constantly changing. Therefore, the bucket cylinder and the connecting rod, the stick cylinder and the stick should be angled at 90° as much as possible during the operation, and do not always make it reach the end of the stroke. In this way, the excavator can obtain the maximum digging force and the maximum work efficiency.
